परिचय SehatCheck

A reference site with calculators attached — not a health blog, and definitely not a clinic.

Why this exists

Search "BMI calculator" from India and you will get a page built on cutoffs derived from European populations. Those cutoffs are not wrong, exactly — they are the international standard and WHO deliberately kept them. They are simply not the most useful reference for an Indian body, and every Indian health authority has said so for two decades.

SehatCheck shows both scales on every result, states plainly where they disagree, and prints the formula and the citation on the page. That is the entire product.

Who runs it

SehatCheck is built and maintained by Amit Sharma, a marketer based in Auckland, New Zealand, alongside a family of free data tools published at amit.marketing. I am not a doctor, a dietitian or an exercise physiologist — which is precisely why this site publishes primary sources and arithmetic rather than dispensing advice. Where the evidence is contested, the page says it is contested.

How it is funded

Advertising, through Google AdSense, and links to my own fitness challenge at PeakForm. Nothing here is a paid placement and no threshold has ever been adjusted to suit anybody. There is exactly one promotional block per page and it sits after the content, never inside it.

The sister sites

Calorie and portion data for Indian dishes lives on ThaliFacts. Calories burned by activity is on BurnLab, and food nutrition on FuelFacts. They share this site's design and its rule about showing the source.

Corrections

If a number here disagrees with the primary source, the primary source wins. Send the page URL and it gets fixed.

General information only — not medical advice. These calculators use published population formulas; they cannot account for your individual health. Consult a doctor before major diet or exercise changes.

Every clinical figure on this site is listed on the स्रोत पृष्ठ with its publication date and the month it was last checked. No clinician has reviewed SehatCheck, and it does not claim otherwise.

The people behind these sites

Follow the build

This site and nine others like it are built and photographed by two people: Amit Sharma — behind the build; Geeta Patel — the poses, demonstrated. New work goes up on Instagram and Facebook before it reaches a page here.

Following changes nothing here — every page stays open, with no account and no wall.
